Why Kickboxing?

Kickboxing is one of the best ways to achieve fitness goals while burning up to 800 calories! Our classes use heavy bags and not people to get the most from your workout. Kickboxing is more than a cardio event — it lets you release pent-up tension or aggression, improves balance and strengthens your core. Thanks to the different muscle groups activated by your jabs and kicks, you’re also toning body parts that don’t usually get a workout when you run, walk or cycle.

Participants have also said that it improves mental benefits such as increased self confidence and self discipline.

Plyometrics??

Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do uses plyometrics which is a term used to describe superfast explosive movements, like burpees and jump squats. Plyometrics help your weight loss process because it makes your muscles more elastic and supple, allowing you to handle workouts of increasing intensity and more efficiently. This is one of the big reasons why kickboxing classes are great for weight loss. Even after class is over, you’ll still feel the effects.

Why Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do?

When you work out on your own, there is not really a lot of motivation to really push yourself to the max. In fact when you work out on your own, it can be difficult to even get started. But in our group class, you’re not only motivated by the instructor, but by the sense of community you have from other members.  This mean that you are more likely to push through whatever limits you think are constraining you and burn even more calories.

Do I have to be in shape already?

No. Our fitness challenge is quite possibly one of the best work outs that there is today. It is high intensity, burns a lot of calories and leaves you feeling good even while your metabolism remains high after the class.  Our instructors goal is to take to to where you feel good with the exercise and then push you just a little harder, encouraging you each and every step of the way. It really is a win-win.
