Seven members of Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do participated in the Fire Dragon Taekwondo Championship on May 11 in Brooks, bringing home eight gold medals, one silver and one bronze in sparring and poomsae (forms). 

“We are excited for everyone that competed. They have been training hard for months and it’s great to see their hard work paying off,” says Chief Instructor, Gary Voysey.

Close to 150 competitors were signed up for the tournament that took place in Brooks, AB. Ten medals were taken by students of Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do. Competitive categories are divided by age, weight and belt rank. The following individuals received medals in their divisions:

Swift Current Christian Tae Kwon Do has been in operation in Swift Current since 2012. The school is a part of the Saskatchewan World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and Taekwondo Canada.
